The legal requirements to register a new product will generally depend on the type of product it is. Generally, there is no law compelling you to register a product you produce. For instance if your company sells locally made tshirts, you do not have to register it anywhere. The only legal requirements for that would be registering your business/company with the Corporate Affairs Commission in order to be able to validly carry on the business, and with the Tax authorities for remittance of tax.
However, there are certain products which require registration with the relevant regulatory bodies. For instance if your company produces food products or drugs, or cosmetics, you are to register this with the National Agency for Food Drug Administration and Control.
So in answer to your question, the requirements for registration will depend on the product which is manufactured.
